Dear Atlantic
Middle School Community,
This afternoon,
it was reported to me that during a classroom discussion, a Grade 6 student
made a comment to another student that threatened a classmate, including
mentioning a weapon. After conducting an
investigation with Director of Safety & Security Michael Draicchio and the
Quincy Police Department, we have determined that the student responsible does
not have access to a weapon. Please know
that the student will be held accountable and appropriately disciplined for
this serious incident. Our classroom
teachers and guidance counselors will be meeting with students today and
tomorrow to reinforce appropriate school behaviors.
Quincy
Public Schools takes all reports of this nature seriously and as always, our
focus is on providing a safe school community for students and staff. If you or your student have concerns about
this incident, please feel free to reach out to me at 617-984-8727 or via email
at [email protected].
Sincerely,
Aliza Schneller
Principal, Atlantic Middle School
