On October 12, 2023, QPS mailed the Spring 2023 MCAS results to students' families, enclosed with this letter:
Dear Quincy Public Schools Parent and Guardians,
Last spring, Quincy Public School students in grades 3-8 participated in the 2023 statewide MCAS
assessment for English Language Arts and Mathematics; Grades 5 and 8 were also assessed in
Science and Technology/Engineering. Spring 2023 MCAS results for Quincy Public Schools closely
align with the results of school districts across Massachusetts and still reflect the effects of the
COVID-19 pandemic on interrupted student learning and achievement.
Your student’s MCAS results are enclosed with this letter. As you review the results, please keep in
mind that MCAS results are only one measure of your student’s growth and achievement. At your
school’s upcoming report card conferences, you will have the opportunity to discuss your student’s
academic and social/emotional growth and development with their teachers.
