Policy Subcommittee Meeting
Monday, January 13, 2014
A meeting of the Policy Subcommittee was held on Monday, January 13, 2014 at 5:30 pm in the 2
nd
Floor Conference Room at the NAGE Building. Present were Mr. Noel DiBona, Mrs. Kathryn Hubley,
Ms. Barbara Isola, Mrs. Anne Mahoney, Mr. Dave McCarthy, and Mr. Paul Bregoli, Chair. Also
attending were Superintendent DeCristofaro, Deputy Superintendent Kevin Mulvey, Mrs. Maura
Papile, Ms. Madeline Roy, Mr. Keith Segalla, and Ms. Laura Owens, Clerk.
Mr. Bregoli called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm.
Mr. Bregoli reviewed the School Committee meeting calendar for 2014-2015, which had been
referred at the January 8, 2014 School Committee meeting.
Mrs. Hubley made a motion to approve the School Committee meeting calendar for 2014-2015 as
presented. Ms. Isola seconded the motion and on a voice vote, the ayes have it.
Mr. Bregoli reviewed the School Year Calendar for 2014-2015, which had been referred at the January
8, 2014 School Committee meeting. Ms. Owens noted that the high school principals had requested
a change to the early release schedule for May 2015 and this was reflected in the version distributed
for the meeting.
Ms. Isola made a motion to approve the School Year Calendar for 2014-2015 as presented. Mrs.
Hubley seconded the motion and on a voice vote, the ayes have it.
The last item on the agenda was prioritizing the items currently in the Policy Subcommittee for
review. Mr. Bregoli will remove items 8 and 10, which were voted on at the January 8, 2014 School
Committee meeting.
At the next Policy Subcommittee meeting on February 3, the Community Service Coordinators and
High School Principals will be invited to present an update on the Community Service Pilot.
At the February 13 Policy Subcommittee meeting, there will be a review of High School Academic and
Extracurricular programs and Extracurricular Eligibility.
Residency will be the focus of a subsequent Policy Subcommittee meeting.
Ms. Isola made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 5:45 pm. Mrs. Hubley seconded the motion and
on a voice vote, the ayes have it.
